Rajesh Kaura
Rajesh Kaura, B.Tech. (IIT Bombay) worked with Larsen & Toubro before joining the PGP management programme at IIMA (1971-73).
Though a science talent scholar, he chose to pursue mechanical engineering at IIT, followed by on-job exposure to production planning and control at L&T and later took assignments in merchant banking, overseas projects and exports at Citibank, Sarabhais and East India Hotels until 1985-86.
In 1986, long before liberalization and globalization took root in the country, he aimed higher and changed tracks to become a first generation entrepreneur by setting up Regency Corporation, an export house trading in home textiles.
Within a short period he took the company to a pre-eminent position in its domain and it was awarded Texprocil’s prestigious Golden Trophy for three successive years.
Regency Corporation’s operations pioneered a new & efficient organisation culture, a dynamic movement towards higher productivity in the power loom centre at Solapur where production reached new highs during the late eighties under his inspiring leadership. |
